CIP4 News

CIP4 is pleased to announce the releases of a new version of the Job Description Format (JDF) specification. The Version 1.6 specification is now available. In addition to incorporating a number of technical enhancements and additions, this new version is backward compatible with JDF 1.5 and previous versions. CIP4 has also begun the process of creating an online Integration Matrix enabling JDF users to quickly identify vendor pairings that have already been successfully integrated, a tool that will be helpful to users seeking new solutions to integrate within an existing business and/or production workflow.

For interoperability between job ticket-based printing systems, the CIP4 JDF to PWG Job Ticket v1.0 (JDFMAP) document defines a recommended mapping from XML objects and
attributes in the CIP4 Job Definition Format [CIP4JDF] to XML
elements in the PWG Print Job Ticket and Associated Capabilities
[PWG5108.7].

The printing industry meets in Stuttgart

On October 26, 2017, Hochschule der Medien and CIP4 Organization are hosting the 9th Symposium on JDF, Industry 4.0 and workflow automation.

Twice a year something magical happens in the print industry. The key suppliers, normally in direct competition with each other, come together and work collaboratively, for a shared purpose. This unusual event is the CIP4 Interop and it’s a place where hardware and software vendors can be found working side by side, integrating with each other’s systems, no matter how big a competitor they are in the outside world. It’s a fantastic thing to be part of.

As a member of CIP4 Imprint-MIS are proud to be hosting the bi-annual Interop conference for members at Clare College Cambridge.
